Once upon a time humanity and equality co-existed during the initial evolution era of homo sapiens (Humans) and their only purpose was survival, they indeed survived from animals, climate, hunger, scarcity of water and many more while being together in a group. Humanity means having human qualities and equality means supporting and providing equal opportunities to everyone, it does not mean treating everyone equal. Can you treat disabled person and non-disabled person equally? There was no concept of equality, both male and female were treated equally and many studies show that egalitarianism was widely used in the evolution era however, agriculture revolution brought the inequality concept. When agricultural era began, male dominance was obvious due to physical attributes and power of delegation. Once the power is being tasted, no one wants to lose it. Inequality emerged from gender to social perspective. The power seeker left no stone unturned to implement the inequality in society, they divided humans into Race, culture, gender, religion, geography, intellectual level, and social status. People disparaged equal societies and became monomaniac. If we look at the current scenario, everyone talks about only gender equality ironically, for centuries we had brought inequality in every aspect of life and yet we are stuck with gender equality. Indians were never against gender equality if we talk about Hindu gods, Hindus have or had several strong women gods; several women warriors (Queens) who fought in battlefield, women who became prime minister and women CEOs. The problem lies in education, educated society tends to show more gender equality than the uneducated one.
The real inequalities are affecting each individual such as-
Inequality in power
Socio-economic inequality
Education inequality
Political inequality
Inequality regarding natural resources
We have inherited inequality and its existence will remain intact for very long. It’s easy to talk about equality and revolution but to dethrone, it is as hard as throwing a ruling party, who has been ruling for centuries without blood.
