“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it” -George Santayana.
History repeats itself because we forget past very fast and assume that it has an insignificant contribution towards the present or future. People commit such mistakes more often. Importance to recent events over historical events leads to a recency bias.
Why people forget historical events?
Well, we forget the past as soon as we get something worth remembering like we will not remember India’s brilliant achievement in 2018 against Australia, however, we will keep in mind the most recent performance. Our mind is working like a 24/7 news channel until breaking news emerges, we will remember the old report.
No one in this world can say that I am unbiased as biasness is like a skin which shapes you. Knowing your biasness will lead you to known paths where you can choose your options.
