“If you want to be successful, find out what the price is and then pay it”– Scott Adams.
The topic of success has been gaining mainstream attention, and nowadays, every other book is based on the concept of success. The million-dollar question is, why it is hard to attain success in real life? Success is like trying hard to get six-pack abs barring 2% of people have abs out of the people who hit gyms regularly. Does that mean if somebody has four-pack abs is unsuccessful? – That is tricky as success is a super subjective concept, and cannot be measured through a standard scale.
What is success?
In literal terms, success means a state or condition of meeting a defined range of expectations. Simple, right? Yet not that simple. People often get confused success with fame, money, power, popularity, social media followership and many more. Success can be perceived differently, and to some people, Kim Kardashian might seem pretty successful though others may not feel the same.
Is success all good?
It might surprise you that many people who think that they are not successful, but, in reality, they are successful. In hindsight, they will always crave for more, and in that particular moment, they fall in the trap of toxic success. The pressure of achieving more leads to -surreality. Furthermore, you pay the hefty price for success in terms of time and health. There is a thin line between success and over-ambition once you start moving away from being successful to overambitious things become quite – dreadful.
We are living in a world where extraordinary has become ordinary, and the more has become less. By meeting your expectations, you can achieve success, however, not of others. Even Lord Ram could not meet the expectations of people.
