“Attention draws things desirable as well as undesirable close.” – Steven Redhead.
Attention is one thing which we crave all the time and even in our sleep. Deep down the core of our heart, we always want someone’s attention, even though there is just a look. For that look, we can kill or be killed. Sometimes love is overrated, and attention is highly underrated, and social media understood this, and they have created options called “Like and view”. Both options are for the attention, not for the appreciation. For appreciation, you have a comment section.
Habitual attention seeker- These are the people who will carry a gigantic board in bold red letters – immediate attention required. Such people will track you down to the grocery store and pretend they didn’t know you were here – that’s scary.
Attention trainer – There is a species among us that train people to learn how to get attention. They carry an encyclopedia of tactics such as remove the DP from WhatsApp, throwing a fake party, emotional voice mails, and outrageous post on social media. If these things don’t work out then they have a masterstroke – public apologies.
How to avoid constant attention feeling?
Avoiding seeking attention feeling is like avoiding Scarlett Johansson in a bathing suit. Love thy neighbours but don’t forget to love thy yourself. So, give yourself some time and introspect. In the end, what matters is – how do you feel about yourself.
Craving for attention is like craving for French fries, and the worst part is – you will never feel full.
