We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone – Ronald Reagan.
Helping someone gives you immense pleasure, and when dopamine kicks in – it becomes an addiction. Nevertheless, beware if someone is taking advantage of your help. Let’s say your friend is hanging on the corner of a pit, and being a good friend, you lend your hand to pull him out. Instead of holding your hand, he drags you into the pit. First, think about your safety, tie up yourself with the rope then, help. If he tries to pull you down. Don’t be alarmed. Slowly, Pull him out and beat the shit out of him. In the end, Don’t forget to call the emergency contact number.
If you can’t help someone then say it aloud – Saying no is very difficult for most of us. When someone is in dire need, then it becomes pretty hard. Giving false hope is a sin, and most of the time people give false hope so that they can pretend to be an angel. That’s futile. Don’t be afraid to say no, that will help a lot.
Listening is equivalent to helping – Seldom people don’t need help, and they need someone who can listen to them. When people can’t make a decision that does not mean they are unaware of the facts, however, they know how to make the decision but, they need validation – we can always lend an ear.
Reciprocation – Tit for tat never went out of trend, if you help someone then, expect same from the others. A friend will always call when he is in trouble but, he will not attend your call when you need help. So beware whom you are helping.
If you help someone that does not mean he/she will care about you. Some are just friends without any benefits, and you will be the friend with more generous benefits.
